I was born and raised in San Diego, California where I began shooting action and nature photography as a hobby. After taking a photography class in high school with Thom Hunt as my teacher, I became intrigued with the art of photography, rather than the practice.

Much of the photography that I do is action photography at my team's track and cross country meets. Being a competitive runner, I understand that passion and pride that athletes put into every race and I attempt to capture the emotion with a single image.

Most of the rest of my photography is nature photography - particularly night photography. Something about capturing light, even when there isn't any, really intrigues me.

In the fall of 2013 I plan to attend Oregon State University where I will study mechanical engineering and continue to compete at the collegiate level.

Although I am just an amateur photographer and I don't have the experience (or equipment) that many other photographers have, I do my best to capture my own passion for photography in my images. Currently, I shoot with my own Nikon D3100 and a 55-200 lens that my friend kindly lets me borrow. Aside from spending all my savings on furthering my education, I am saving for some better equipment.
